OpenAI announced GPT-6 Rosalind Research on October 30 as a restricted model option for approved life-sciences research. It is rolling out to a limited set of approved Research customers in Work and Codex, with API access available only where the organization is separately approved. The model is not available in the Chat tab. (https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/changelog.md; https://help.openai.com/en/articles/20001193-gpt-rosalind-for-life-sciences-research)
Access and rollout
Access requires Research approval for both the organization and the user. Approval for GPT-Rosalind Discovery does not grant Research access. In Enterprise workspaces, GPT-6 Rosalind Research starts in a two-week Admin Preview and is off by default; administrators can enable it for approved users and configure access for after the preview. Existing Research approval does not bypass the preview. The API identifier is gpt-6-rosalind. OpenAI says customers can continue using GPT-5.5 Rosalind Research for existing workflows. Confirm that the organization and user have the correct Research approval and that API access has been separately granted before changing a model configuration.
