Google Antigravity adds IDE extensions, Gemini Enterprise access, and 2.9.1 polish

Google Antigravity’s August 20, 2026 updates expand the platform beyond its standalone surfaces. Google introduced Antigravity IDE Extensions for popular editors, included Antigravity in eligible Gemini Enterprise subscriptions, and shipped version 2.9.1 with project-switching, Customizations, startup, and reliability improvements.

Extensions for four editor families

Antigravity Extensions bring conversations, customizations, and multi-agent orchestration into Visual Studio Code, Visual Studio, JetBrains IDEs, and Zed while sharing context with the broader Antigravity ecosystem.

Google positions the integrations as lightweight rather than as a replacement for every editor. They can help developers inspect code paths, review compiler diagnostics, make localized changes, and debug logic inside the editor. JetBrains support starts with IntelliJ-based IDEs version 2026.2.1 or later.

Visual Studio extensions are currently in Preview. Enterprise support for JetBrains and Zed is also in Preview, while the individual-developer experience supports signing in with a Google account and any Antigravity plan, including the free tier.

Antigravity in Gemini Enterprise

Google says Antigravity is now included with eligible Gemini Enterprise Standard and Plus subscriptions. The enterprise release adds a single subscription path for organizations that want Antigravity 2.0, the CLI, and the editor extensions.

The announcement highlights administrator controls for workspace sandboxing, browser permissions, MCP server permissions, pooled quotas, budget caps, audit logging, Workforce Identity Federation, and Application Default Credentials. Google says enterprise activity remains inside the Google Cloud boundary under Google Cloud Terms of Service and that code is not used to train foundation models.

The offer is available today for eligible Standard and Plus customers. Individual developers and enterprise teams have different sign-in paths, so organizations should use the enterprise setup documentation when enabling the product across a team.

Version 2.9.1 and the week’s CLI updates

Antigravity’s changelog lists version 2.9.1 on August 20 with faster project switching, redesigned Customizations settings, faster startup, improved sidebar navigation, cleaner error recovery, and bug fixes.

The same changelog records additional August releases. Version 1.1.14 added a faster enterprise-sign-in path, MCP OAuth client-ID metadata documents, scrolling for /context and /usage, markdown-agent customization inheritance, and read-only permissions outside the workspace. Version 1.1.13 added direct GEMINI_API_KEY authentication and custom-agent task management, alongside search, caching, and reliability fixes.
