Cursor adds Google Workspace plugins for agents

In a changelog entry published August 3, 2026, Cursor says coding agents can now read, write, and act across Google Workspace through new plugins.

What the plugins connect

Cursor’s official changelog lists plugins for:

• Google Drive: search files and folders, open and download content, and create or organize files
• Gmail: search and read mail, draft and send messages, apply labels, and manage threads
• Google Calendar: read schedules, create and update events, and find free time
• Google Docs: open and read documents, write and edit text, and create new documents
• Google Sheets: read ranges, find values, update cells, and create or edit spreadsheets
• Google Chat: read spaces and messages, and send messages and direct messages

Cursor describes the integration as an MCP-based way to pull context, update files, and manage inboxes and calendars without leaving the editor.

How to install them

The plugins are available in the Cursor Marketplace and can also be installed from Cursor’s Customize page. The changelog links to Cursor’s documentation for the setup details and permissions involved.

Why it matters

This moves Cursor’s agent workflow beyond the repository: an agent can use project code alongside the documents, schedules, email threads, and spreadsheets that surround the work. The important boundary is that these are explicit plugins, so teams can choose which Workspace surfaces to connect rather than treating every account as automatically available.

The release extends Cursor’s recent plugin and MCP direction, but it is distinct from the product’s general marketplace changes: the new entries provide concrete Workspace actions for day-to-day coordination and knowledge work.
