Anthropic adds beta browser and computer use toolsets to Python and TypeScript SDKs
Anthropic’s SDK toolset classes run browser and computer-use loops in Python and TypeScript while developers provide their own automation drivers.

Anthropic’s October 7 Claude Platform release notes say the Python and TypeScript SDKs now include beta classes for browser use and computer use. Developers subclass a toolset class and implement methods against their own browser or desktop automation. The SDK can run the tool loop, apply configured browser URL and file policies, call an approval callback, and build tool results. You provide the browser or desktop driver
The toolset classes are adapters, not hosted browsers or desktop environments. Anthropic’s documentation says the SDK does not include a browser, desktop, ready-made driver, or URL policy. Developers must provide the automation driver and configure checks and approvals for the actions it can perform. The minimal examples use Chromium through the Chrome DevTools Protocol for browser tasks and a desktop driver for computer use; the docs identify those examples as not production code. Browser and computer tool calls run sequentially for each toolset. The browser guide cautions that a URL policy does not control page requests, links, redirects, or network egress; applications should validate URLs in the executor, restrict network access, confine file uploads, and require approval for consequential actions. The browser-use tool is not currently available in Claude Managed Agents.
